Gus Bates III, CLU has focused in Life Insurance and Business Insurance as well as products and services for Estate Conservation with John Hancock for more than 40 years. 

Gus is a Past President of the Fort Worth Association of Life Underwriters.  He has served on the John Hancock Financial Network Associate Advisory Board.  He is the recipient of the Fort Worth Association of Life Underwriters Agent Service Award and the John Hancock Vincent C. Bowers Field Quality Award, the company’s highest award for quality, excellence and leadership.  In addition, he has been honored as a John Hancock Cabinet member for 24 years and the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table [MDRT] for over 30 years. 

 

Gus graduated from TexasChristianUniversity in 1966.  He earned his LUTCF designation in 1976 and his CLU professional designation in 1979.

 

Gus and his wife Sheryl make their home in Fort Worth, where they have been active members of the community for many years.  Gus has served on the Boards for the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Worth, Sports Advisory for Park and Recreation of Fort Worth, Young Life of Fort Worth and the Epilepsy Foundation of Fort Worth.  He also volunteers with the Bobby Bragen Youth Foundation and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Gus currently serves as Board Chair for Easter Seals of North Texas.
