Lawrence Whaley, CLU coordinates all educational activities and programs for our firm.   Lawrence, who joined the firm in 1999, entered the life insurance business in 1968. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter Designation [CLU] in 1971.   He spent four years (1983 to 1987) as Vice-President in the Planning Division for a large brokerage company.     

 

He also began working as a Sales Course Instructor in 1983 --- since that time he has provided coaching and training for more than 1,500 sales professionals.

 

Lawrence graduated from TulaneUniversity in New Orleans in 1966.  In 1968, he received his Master of Business Administration from the Wharton Graduate School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctor in 1971 from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas. 

 

Lawrence is a member or past member of a number of associations including: the Dallas Estate Planning* Council, and Past President of the Dallas Chapter of the American Society of CLU.  He’s active in both the Farmer’s Branch and the Garland Chamber of Commerce.

 

He serves as a Mentor for the GarlandIndependentSchool District, and is a founding member of the Library Associates for the University of Dallas.  He’s also a member of Opus Dei.  He has served as a School Board member for Holy Trinity Catholic Church and he’s a guest lecturer on church history and sacred scripture for Holy Trinity.  He has served as Chairman for the Cistercian Preparatory School Athletic Board, President of his chapter of Toastmasters International and on the Board of Directors of the Youth Achievement Foundation, and is the past president of the Dallas Metropolitan Serra Club.

 

Lawrence and his wife Mary Kay live in Dallas. They have one married son who is an orthopedic surgeon in San Antonio, and are blessed with three grandchildren.
